Earlier today, IBM published an internal policy document encouraging blogging – both on the Intranet and Internet. The policy sets some basic ground-rules for blogging – such as speaking in the first person and refraining from using an argumentative tone. In addition, the policy also reminds employees of IBM business conduct guidelines and the responsibility of employees not to disclose IBM Confidential information.
Encouraging the use of blogs, and complimentary technologies such as wikis, recognizes th value of individual contribution and fosters collaboration between IBM employees and customers.
I’ve been blogging for the past several months on IBM’s intranet. I thought it only fitting to expand my blogging to the Internet now that IBM has embraced blogging.
